Hilton Head Plantation_Farmers Market_Dunes Real Estate

I received an email from Hilton Head Plantation saying that there is a Farmer’s Market scheduled on every Saturday in May, June and July on Saturdays. It is open to HHP residents from 9:00 to 11:00. I took a ride over to community garden this Saturday and found a charming display of vegetables and flowers for sale. As you can see in the photographs the produce looks delicious.  There was a steady flow of cars coming in to purchase onions, cabbage, broccoli, green beans, tomatoes, preserves and lovely bouquets for the dining room table.

The growers are members of the Hilton Head Plantation Farmers Club; established in 1980. As a member one can rent a plot of land to farm or be a volunteer to help with planned activities.

Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival_Shelter Cove_Dunes Real Estate

The 11th annual Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival is now a week-long Celebration.  It has grown into a wonderful week of events, at various locations, to showcase local seafood restaurants and their specialties.  Proceeds from ticket sales benefit several local charities and foundations.

There was a fishing excursion in the waters off Hilton Head.  A Clay Shooting Tournament was held at Turkey Hill Plantation in Ridgeland.  Both events were followed by scrumptious seafood inspired dinners.  Cooking demonstrations by visiting and local chefs were held at various locations on the island and on the mainland.

PLAID NATION is Getting its Plaid on for the Heritage Harbour Town Golf Links Tournament.

The celebration of the 50th year of the Harbour Town Heritage Links Golf Tournament has begun. Sunday February 19th marked the 50th day prior to opening day of the tournament. Though a little cloudy the Temperature was in the high 70’s.  Naturally it was time to have a party.  It was a celebration for the wonderful folks who volunteer to work the tournament. It is also a celebration for those who love to attend the tournament and the game of golf.

There were several thousand in attendance; strolling leisurely around the harbour, sitting in the rockers, visiting the shops and dining at the Quarter Deck. Many donning the signature tartan plaid in the form
